The Triple-Hole Heavy Chopper is the knife for ribs, brisket, joints, and bone-in portions: the cuts that punish a lighter blade. A tall, straighter-spined 155mm blade puts weight behind every chop, while three oval weight-relief holes along the spine keep it manageable over repeated strokes rather than single heavy blows.
Home cleaver guides typically recommend 900gā1.1kg for hard batoning, but at 345g, this chopper trades some of that raw momentum for control and reduced fatigue. It’s built for a butcher working through a full braai’s worth of bone-in cuts, not one heavy hit.
A wood handle with a lanyard/hanging slot at the butt keeps it within easy reach at the braai station.

Maintenance
Maintenance & Care
Not Dishwasher Safe: Never put your knife in the dishwasher, always hand-wash.
Rinse After Each Use: Wash with fresh water immediately, particularly after bone-in cuts.
Dry Immediately: Towel dry right away, including inside the weight-relief holes where moisture can sit.
Oil After Each Use: Apply a light coat of food-safe oil to prevent rust forming around the holes and edge.
Store Properly: Keep in a dry place using the lanyard/hanging slot to keep it off damp surfaces.
Sharpening
Sharpen using any standard sharpening equipment, including a wet stone, rods, etc. Avoid using the chopper for prying or twisting against bone to protect the edge.
